His wife Alejandro Silva is still pregnant. Both have children from previous marriages.
Seventy-year-old Gere is home to Homer James Jigma, 19, and Alejandra is the mother of six-year-old Albert.
As she discovered the previous pregnancy, Alejandra posted a picture of the couple appearing with the Dalai Lama, who gently touched her stomach to bless her yet unborn child.
The couple met in 2014 and married in April 2018 in New York.
