The chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), Isa Mustafa, has said the issue of demarcation with Montenegro is a work done and there will be no review of the agreement.
The first of the LDK, in an interview for EconomyOnline, has accused outgoing Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj of rejecting for several years an agreement he later entered into the government accepted without any change.
He has even added that violence, Molotov, and tear gas were used to reject this agreement from the AAK.
I thought this issue was carried out from the beginning because the State Commission had then made the solution, made the deal, that agreement was signed between Kosovo and Montenegro. That deal was then largely rejected by the AAK, by the VV, there was violence, brought, Molotov, tear gas, were our black ones. However, the same agreement was then ratified in the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo when it was Prime Minister Haradinaj. The same without changing a word, only formally introduces the opinion of the Bullici Commission and formally a Declaration”, he said.
But Mustafa has said the agreement was signed in Montenegro's Parliament before the two presidents' statement was made, and it is already late for such a process to be turned back.
The accord has been ratified in Montenegro's Parliament, which is, but also in the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo, this agreement has been ratified. And this agreement is now ratified, if there is will from Montenegro that once again be reviewed is another matter. But in legal terms, the agreement is final because it has ratified the two congregations. What is the presidential issue is a declaration that does not go outside a statement, because it has not been ratified in the Montenegro Assembly. That statement was issued in the polls package when it was ratified in the Kosovo Assembly, but Montenegro has not ratified such a declaration because it was delivered after ratification of the” agreement has been made, he has said.
However, he says convinced that the demarcation agreement is fair and that Kosovo does not lose a square meter and that the border is set at the points it was in earlier.
So I think there was no mistake, because it was put on the line where the border line between the province of Kosovo and Montenegro was, and we had the full security that no square metre s quite straight past. If someone finds it except individuals who have made too much noise, it would be good to reconsider”, he said.
Mustafa: Tax part of reciprocal measures, we want unconditional dialogue
In this interview for Economy Online, Isa Mustafa has also talked about the tax and the dialogue process with Serbia.
He has indicated that the VV has agreed that the tax will remain as part of the reciprocal measures against Serbia, as he has estimated that the neighbouring country is not halting actions against Kosovo.
Our “position as the LDK, but also the VV is now to be part of the reciprocal measures between Kosovo and Serbia. I think that solves the problem. If Serbia necessarily abandons some non-tariff measures that are applying against Kosovo, it gives up in preventing the origin of Kosovo goods from being exported to Serbia. He renounces their campaign for recognising the Republic of Kosovo, implements the agreements we have signed, and we have agreed on them in Brussels, as is the energy agreement and many other agreements. Of course, we will act mutually”, he has said.
He has said these measures will stay until Serbia changes access to Kosovo, while it has called for unconditional dialogue.
“But if Serbia keeps all its measures and we then require that we remove them of course we have no reason to do so. So we're going to approach the problem of dialogue for that process to be at least. Don't put conditions on either Serbia or Kosovo. Let's get into the process of dialogue and solve problems which lead to mutual recognition between these two countries, he has said.
Mustafa: Harsh and unnecessary mini-sengen
The LDK leader has also commented on the neighbouring countries' initiative to form a platform called the mini-sengen.
This idea has been deemed unnecessary and to the detriment of Kosovo, as it has said Serbia still does not implement the agreements reached with Kosovo, and it will use it as a reason to flee obligations to our state.
Neither representatives of Albania nor Serbia nor Macedonia have said what this is. Except what we're sitting on and doing is mini-senge because it's a relief. For relief we have agreed in the European Union to have the area or to have common economic space between these countries. Therefore, I consider it to be completely groundless initiative and not to say purposeless because the one who proposed it has a purpose, but for an unnecessary and harmful purpose, because through it in a completely relatative form, Serbia's obligation to implement the agreements we have with Serbia and to meet the conditions for EU integration is the conditions that the EU has imposed on Serbia. And they can't now through a mini-marken to flee their obligations to Kosovo”, he said.
