MDIS publishes “Pre-launchary Results of the Diaspora Register according to the highest territorial administrative division in states”

Diaspora Deputy Minister Isni Kilaj urged all diaspora Albanians to register because according to him, they need the country on all issues.

He has added that even in recent elections, there has been a problem with non-registering the diaspora.

It's much more important that we have such a registry because we've never had a rough number of Albanians living in the diaspora before, because we've had a huge migration. It is important that we as a nation have a close number of all Albanians”. Kyle said.

The presentation by demographic expert Kadri Soeva has shown the population data in the diaspora that are registered in various countries.

German has 37% of immigrants, Switzerland 29.30%. The year of migration with the largest frequency is between 1990 and 1995. Data research has been done with 400 thousand respondents”, Mr. Soyva.

The results have found that the state with mostly registered Albanian diaspora is Germany, followed by Switzerland.

While the majority of the Albanian population living in diaspora, there are no registered businesses.

The Ministry of Diaspore and Strategic Investments has launched the diaspora registration process in 2014, which by 2017 was implemented in two forms, physical ones through forms and electronics.

As of 2017, the diaspora census has been only electronically made.

MDIS has so far implemented two census publications. One in 2017 who had general data of the population active in the diaspora, while in the July 2019 publication, there were registrations of diaspora businesses.
