Vetevendosje Movement Chairman Albin Kurti said Kosovo must honour the obligations stemming from the Convention for Human Rights and offer children more opportunities for education and well-being.
The children need housing, family care, state and community. No child deserves to be without a roof over the head without quality education. The state should guarantee development, welfare and education”, Kurti said.
Today, when 60 years have been completed by the Declaration for the Rights of Children adopted by the UN General Assembly and 30 years from the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Kurti said child education is constitutional right and that nests are not luxury but need.
He said the priority of new governance will be early education, and that the more quality increases in kindergartens and schools, much less children seeking charity.
Even 5% of children under five years of age in Kosovo are not involved in pre-school education. Child education is constitutional right. Welcomes are not luxury but need. They are right guaranteed for all children, regardless of gender, ethnicity, background, or religious faith. The priorities of new governance will be early education. The more quality hikes in daycares and schools, the less children on the streets of the city working for survival or seeking charity”, Kurti followed.
VV leader and prime ministerial candidate said we have so much unemployment in Kosovo, meanwhile, every tenth child works.
He demanded commitment from all that the vision of the democratic and social state, fair and developmental, be realised under the smile of all Kosovo children.
