This annual forum, uniting about 200 new leaders, is directed towards action and active society from the Western Balkan region, which will be engaged in discussions with current policymakers and regional leaders on visible topics and challenges.
This conference, organised by the European Movement in Serbia - Local Novi Sad and the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence.
It should be stressed that on the main panel, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Slovenia's Barut Pahor and Stevo Pendorravski of Northern Macedonia, at a table with them, was Aulona Memeti from Kosovo.
This discussion was extremely tense, even Memeti as a sign of protest because of the lack of stimulant translation into Albanian, opened the word by addressing it in Albanian, writes Indexline.
She talked about the importance of changing the initiative, accepting the truth and seeking forgiveness, as the fundamental condition of continuing on.
Hello everyone, especially Albanian-speaking participants. As I entered the hall to start discussing this panel, I was informed that there is no translation into Albanian and was asked (only me) to speak English and not Albanian. Since I consider it important that the present politicians hear what I have/we have to say, from this moment on I will continue my discussion in English.
We still live on the narrator of 30 years ago. It has to change the story, and the story changes when you do something to change the course of events. So we have to ask ourselves, have we done anything to change the course of events?
And Aulona's speech angered the Serbian president, who stressed that “we have a homeland here to talk about the future, and if you want to talk about the past, one thing to be clear, that we will never agree to”.
