The Finance Ministry has proposed to the Government that it allocates 500 thousand euros in assistance to Albania after the earthquake struck this morning.
Acting Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said he is deeply affected by the tragedy in Albania, where 13 victims and hundreds of deaths have so far been reported, as well as major material damage.
“We are deeply affected by the tragedy in Albania. Our people's prayers are with the citizens of Albania, with our countrymen. We have expressed readiness to get help, have mobilised KSF and PK teams, other security institutions, to launch procedures for intervention. We hired teams like Trepca, Artana Mine, KEK Fire Unit. I have authorized all maintenance companies to start for Albania”, Haradinaj said before the government cabinet.
Haradinaj has also asked the Agency for Emergency Management to make the country's alert system level assessment and take the necessary steps to be prepared.
“Today, I have received confirmation from all institutions in the country that there is a comprehensive protocol, and if Kosovo is affected, we pray that we will not, be willing to face such a situation”, Haradinaj said. /Kosovo pres/
