The Strasbourg Court has granted all Kosovo citizens the right to withdraw the saved means to the banks of Serbia, including those of the former Yugoslavia's time, which have been deposited mainly during the years of the eight and 90. However, because of Kosovo's institutional non-admission, those means are at risk of losing.
It has been two months, the Minister of Labour and Social Management, as well as the Ministry of Justice, have not returned a response to the Ombudsman's institution, which has proposed that an office be established where citizens could deliver evidence for their savings, which would then be able to surrender to Belgrade through the Interconnecting Office for Kosovo, writes Koha Ditore.
The deadline the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers, which is responsible for overseeing the implementation of the Strasbourg Court's decisions for implementation of this decision, according to the ombudsman, Hilmi Jashari, is December 23rd of this year.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Management and the Ministry of Justice, since Friday last week, have not returned the newspaper's response to the issue. Two other institutions, whose commitment the Lawyer has requested, are also the Kosovo Ministry of Finance and Central Bank. The first one has said it has not been answered, but the second has said it has raised this issue by sending a letter to Serbia's Central Bank, in which an explanation is asked in what way those tools can return to Kosovo citizens. The CEC has not yet received an answer from Serbia's authorities. From the Ministry of Finance, the paper has told him this issue falls in the labour ministry's scope and that they are willing to provide assistance in the process.
