Kosovars continue not to till land, agricultural connoisseurs urge to plant wheat

Agriculture today does not enjoy the treatment it should have. This year, too, continues the trend of falling wheat cultivation in Kosovo. Farmers complain of low prices. Agriculture acquaintances appeal to farmers to plant wheat as much as Kosovo is failing to meet its consumption needs. According to them, the latter must be mobilized strongly, since the sowing of wheat can only take place until November 10th.
Farmers' interest in wheat cultivation has diminished, says farmer Halim Hashan, who has been getting smaller and smaller. To that end, he says that a host of factors are being influenced.
And we've been planting with smaller amounts this year because the price of wheat is very low and climate conditions are affecting, drought, we're having huge expenses, so we've reduced it. Last year we planted 2-3 times more than we have now... I planted four acres this year, I had eight years, and I had 20 acres [20 ha] of 20 acres [18 ha], he relates.
In order for Kosovo farmers to deal with wheat cultivation, according to him, certain conditions must be met.
“Kishim demanded the cheaper oil, with subvention in garbage and seeds. The seed is very expensive and uncial, it comes in third grade to us, it never comes from the first grade in Kosovo, it writes that it produces productivity, but it never gives it” productivity, he adds.
That this year's wheat productivity has been low, Tahir Tahiri, chairman of the Kosovo Farmers' Union, tells Kosovo of Kosovo.
It shows that more than 15 percent of bread needs have not been provided this year, which again causes import addiction.
According to Tahiri, farmers should not expect ideal conditions, since November may have continued rainfall and unable to plant their lands.
We have information that somewhere around 5 percent of the planned surfaces are planted. However, the majority of farmers are expecting better climate conditions, waiting to be cooled so that there is moisture in wheat - planted fields. I tell them that, despite this humidity, they will certainly plant the wheat because it's a risk to the thread in November and don't stop at all. Then the farmer will not be able to enter the field at all and thus fail”, he says.
Agriculture Professor Imer Rusinovac said that agriculture does not enjoy the treatment it must have, especially in strategic products such as wheat culture.
He says labour productivity should be stimulated in primary agriculture and there will be measuring indicators, as he appeals to all farmers who grow wheat to him with the utmost seriousness, for planting to end as far as November 10th.
We need a large scale of furniture in general from farmers, all extension or advisory service, and the relevant institutions to monitor, to engage and face as much of the increase in cultivation of the agricultural surfaces as we are talking about wheat, to the fact that we need nutrients with this vital article that is bread that we don't meet and how we should, and to prolong the mind-making import that is done in this culture, which is not justified<1...
He points out that the drought ruling in the country represents the sowing time but that it appeals for the planting to be applied.
According to him, there is no reason to expect resurgeons in order to implement the ground's pre-preparative planting measures, as there may be long - term projections, where worsening weather could prevent the planting operation.
The planned subsumptions that were last year did not come true almost half of them as a consequence of aridity, and this year Kosovo will be able to resurface the enormous import for wheat and wheat products, wheat flour etc., and carbon this year, I think that if we have a higher rate of responsibility and mobilization in the field, we can obviously reduce the amount of imports we have for wheat products, to produce as much of our fields... 4:01, I recommend to all farmers at this level, to make this significant amount of aggression to the seriousness of planting that ends up with November 10th, but also the amount of seeds added to the first tenth of November.
Meanwhile, in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development, half the area planned for agricultural cultures has been planted so far.
Isuf Cikaqi, director of Agricultural Policy in MBPZR, says that by now 50 per cent of the planned surface has been planted, while adding that it is early to talk about wheat productivity for next year.
So far, according to information we have from the ground, 50 percent of the planned surface has been planted, which for this year is 70-80 thousand hectares, completely with the lural cultures that are planted in the fall. Meanwhile, it is early for us to give a” conclusion, he says.
Kosovo is constantly facing lack of grain. Although low on agricultural soil, farmers complain that they have no favourable conditions for cultivating this strategic culture, from which they say they are not earning.
