Kosovo's incumbent Prime Minister, Ramush Haradinaj, has reacted after the election of German Peter Beyer as a rapporteur for Kosovo at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
Haradinaj wished that the MP's election would be a successful resumption of European engagement in Kosovo, in order to advance Kosovo's journey towards full integration into the European family.
“Today at the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe's Parliamentary Assembly in majority decided that the rapporteur for Kosovo would be Peter Beyer, MP from the German Chancellor's CSU-CSU ruling coalition, Angela Merkel, with 33 votes against Russian MP Alexei Kondratiev, who received only 6 votes. I hope this decision will be a good start of European engagement in Kosovo, in order to advance Kosovo's path towards full integration into the European family”, Haradinaj wrote.
