Many have been interested in researching therapeutic nature of this leisure activity, which includes needles and weavers.
The results received by British scientists show that 81 percent of respondents felt happier and more relaxed because of the weave.
Researchers who published their study in the British Journal of Occupational Therapy noted that there was an important link between the frequency of this activity and tranquillity, with individuals who often had better cognitive function.
“Trade has significant psychological and social benefits that can contribute to a better and better life. For skilled weavers as well as for weavers when wanting to express their creativity, it has therapeutic potential”, the study says.
In Great Britain, doctors are encouraged to describe weave as a recommendation to their patients, as this also benefits people's physical health. Arthritis sufferers, for example, said that weave away from chronic pain.
Distraction can also help reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation - a common problem facing the elderly. Smokers also said the weave helps them consume fewer cigarettes because their hands are busy during the event.
Although it can be linked to other creative hobbies such as painting and writing, the process of weave and sewing is different, or less spontaneous, because it primarily involves repeated movements that can increase the levels of serotonin in the brain.
The rhythmic repetition of movement calms the mind, softens the heart's rhythm, and slows down the breathing. In general, this makes us feel good both during our time and after that, since the finished work gives us satisfaction and raises our faith.
