The blogging of the Chrome team explains that in the future the browser will be able to identify the sites that are carefully and slowly loaded to users and tow them with clear labels.
This type of marking can take many forms, and the team plans to try them through experiment and find what will be most useful to users.
Google plans to identify pages that are created to be generally slow. Chrome's team is also exploring the ability to identify countries with slow loads due to slow hardware or network connections, Kosova Press broadcasts.
Google is also looking at a loading screen that would warn users, or a progress tape that would be green if the page was fast and red if slow.
“We are developing speed labels in close co-operation with other teams on Google that are committed to dictating or testing user experience”, the Chrome team explains.
“We are very careful when it comes to setting norms for what is considered a good experience on the internet, and hopefully they will be accessible to all developers,” they add.
It is not clear when the new system will appear in Chrome, but Google has announced plans at a Chrome Dev Summi conference in San Francisco.
The announcement is surrounded by a lot of “maybe”, so it is clear that Google wants reactions from the web developers before going on.
