Samsung's first folded phone, Galaxy Folk, is racing directly against Huawei's first of its kind, Mate X, on the Chinese market.
The dialer officially launched Galaxy Fold in China on Friday.
The Korea Herald reports that China is the 24th country where Galaxy Fuld appears in the market, selling for $2,293.
By comparison, Huawei Mate X, launched on October 23rd, is capable of 5G and is only about $100 more expensive, costing $2,400.
The report cites industry officials who claim that the initial message Samsung prepared for China is about 20,000 units.
Industry officials also claim that Samsung sold the entire stock of the Galaxy Folk units available.
Chinese vendor Jingdong.com said the device was sold in two seconds, while Samsung confirmed that the entire order was sold in five minutes.
