The author of the hit, Hero, was due to perform in Croatia, Latvia and Belarus in December, but the concerts were suddenly cancelled.
A statement posted on the Latvian agency's website, Bilsu Servis, claims Iglesias spokesperson at the Kreative Arts Agency cancelled the performances after the promoters failed to fulfil the agreement to organise concerts.
Unfortunately, after a careful consideration and depletion of all possible options, we have been forced to cancel future performances in Zagreb, Riga and Minsk. ArtBG, the host of the tournament at the concert, producer and host of events, have not met their contractual obligations with the event's locations and all the production elements for these three events. All of this makes it impossible to perform what our worshipers deserve. Security for our fans and crew is paramount and we cannot guarantee this for all without the promoter to fulfil his obligations, ” said in explanation.
According to the Pollstar music industry site, a promoter who claims to represent ArtBG has deceived fans by promoting concerts without paying either Enrice and his team or operators. The link to buying tickets on the ArtBG website has also fallen out of service.
In the statement to Bileu Sévis, the Enrique team promised that “are committed to ensuring that ArtBG is held responsible for their operations”.
They also pledged to set new dates in countries similar to the cancelled concerts soon.
