According to a study published in the magazine “Development and Psychopathology”, hugs have a positive effect on the molecular level.

An environment may change some of the negative effects that have occurred in pregnancy on the development of children.
The study was done with baby skin samples, which were used for DNA methylisation and gene generation tests.
