Experts advise the collapse of the Ljubljana Hotel.
” The immediate assistance was given to the Lubjana hotel in Durres, Swiss engineers checked the building's stability and cautioned of the possibility of collapse due to the unstable elements having buildings” reportedly in the Swiss Embassy's announcement.
Experts coming from Switzerland began to assess the needs for damaged families, and in the days ahead the mission will set priorities and duration of assistance.
The team consists of 15 specialists from the Swiss Development and Co-operation Agency's Humanitarian Assistance Department (SDC), among them engineers who assess the state of buildings and experts who value needs and plan actions in response.
The team also met with emergency commissions and local authorities in Durres, Tirana and Lac, and began assessing the needs for damaged families. In the days ahead, the mission will set the priorities and duration of Swiss assistance. Supplies, equipment and non-food items are expected to arrive in the coming days.
