The latest research by the research firm exposed six dangerous antivirus applications that have 1.66 billion downloads at the Play Store.
The problem is the permits that require these so-called security applications that are not required by a real antivirus app.
It's about permission to check the location, camera, and even use the phone without your knowledge. If you want to download a security app then you have to go for a brand known that you're familiar with. Free applications are for one reason because if you're not paying for them then someone else is paying.
Of course there are some permits that security applications should be used to operate as internet access and memory reading to scan dangerous files.
