Media in Serbia are reporting that the next state to attract recognition of Kosovo is Republic Nauru, becoming the 17th country.
According to Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, this 21km2 state will cease all diplomatic contacts it has had so far, Kosovo reports.
He told Tanjug that a letter was given to him by Nauro's deputy foreign affairs minister, addressed to the Serbian Embassy in Australia, said the Republic of Naurus had concluded that the recognition decision was premature and contrary to the principles of Resolution 1244.
Nauru with Yaren capital is located in the Ocean and has 13649 inhabitants.
In 2016, Nauru's president, Baron Divaves Siqa, had congratulated President Hashim Thaci on taking the post, saying good relations between the two countries would flourish.
