Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj hosted Sweden's Foreign Affairs Minister Ann Linde today in Tirana.
During the meeting, the excellent dynamics of bilateral relations, Albania's advancement in the European integration process, developments in the Balkan region and security challenges were discussed.
Strengthening political dialogue, not only among our countries, but also about the situation in the Western Balkans and beyond, where both Albania and Sweden play an active role, was named of special importance.
Minister Cakaj praised Sweden's supportive role for the enlargement process, in general, and Albania's efforts, in particular, in the process.
They shared the same view that the EU integration process remains the most fundamental process for Albania and Albanians, as it offers the necessary framework of reforms towards Albania's stability and sustainable political and economic development.
But, Minister Cakaj also stopped in the approach the EU has towards Kosovo and its citizens in terms of visa liberalisation:
Almost as often as any other time, at meetings of such forms, I also outlined the unfair approach of the EU to Kosovo citizens. Kosovo has met all technical conditions and deserves to move freely without visa regimes in the European Union's space.” ) Cakaj said in his address, writes Top Channel forwarded the Kosovo Clan.
Another topic discussion was and Albania's chairmanship in O The SBE in 2020, as a major goal of Albanian foreign policy, where Minister Cakaj received Swedish support security for the work done so far.
