But I want to build a house there, and I want to feel pride in my heart when you step on that land. I ask you all to open your eyes, heart, and soul because many young boys and girls are growing up in fear and pain like me. Many consider suicide every day, just like me. They are afraid to be different because of their culture and the idea that their circle will judge them. We're no different. We're just like everyone else, we love. Today for the first time, I stand with great pride as a 37-year-old gay! At the end of the day, I feel happy because it's me. ” says Mario through tears and between public ovations.
