Why was Vjosa Osman immediately invited to the White House, Albin Kurti not?

The Vetevendosje movement emerged the first party in the October 6th snap elections, with a slight margin of votes against the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Despite the minimum gap, however, Vetevendosje will be the first mandate to form the New Government and enjoy the right to proposal the Speaker of the Assembly.

But the anxiety and tension among Kurti's supporters for prime minister has increased following Mr. Lutfi Haziri, who declared Vjosa Osmani had received more voters than Albin Kurti. The latter has won 163 thousand votes from the preliminary count, or 20,000 more than Kurt received in 2017. However, Kurt's only outcome in this election is not yet known.

But what concerns Kurt's followers most as prime minister are his poor reports with the United States of America. The invitation to Mrs. Osmani may be a clear indicator of whom the American administration supports to become Kosovo's new prime minister.

Mrs. Osmani first met with Mr. John Erath, Director for Europe of the Council for National Security at the White House, which said there were highly productive discussions about the priorities and challenges awaiting Kosovo in the months to come. ”

Later, she also held a meeting with Z. Assistant Secretary of State Matthew Palmer, who is also a Special Representative to the Western Balkans. And finally, she also met Dean Phillips, a member of the Foreign Affairs Commission in the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kurti has so far met with Ambassador Delaway and Special Representative Richard Green. But Mrs. Greenelli also met. Osman with Mr. Mustafa in the LDK office.

Incidents That Can Harm Work

In 2014, US Ambassador Tracy Ann Jacobson was accidentally attacked by Vetevendosje activists during a protest against the Association of Serb-based municipalities, also known in Serbian as “Zajednica”.

Dialogue

In fact, in terms of access to dialogue with Serbia, the differences between Vjosa Osmani and Albin Kurti are completely small. From their public positions, we learn that the tariff to goods imported from Serbia will be removed to establish reciprocity measures.

It is not believed that this change will convince Belgrade to return to the negotiating table, as is the request of international factors. Brussels and Washington have consistently berated Pristina over the 100 per cent fee, and it is expected to continue with the New Government.
