The noted public bill with the appointment “Kill homosexuals” was removed from power five years ago, but the government said it plans to make it again part of legislation within weeks.
According to government officials, this law will combat increased unnatural relations in the country of East Africa.
“Homosexualism is not natural for the Ugandans, but there has been mass recruiting by gay people in schools, especially among young people, where they are promoting the false idea that people are born with these sentiments”, said Minister of Ethics and Integrity Simon Lokodo.
The current “law is limited. He only criminalizes the action. We want to make it clear that all people involved in promotion and recruiting should be criminalised. Those who commit this act will be sentenced to death”, the minister added.
He said the bill was supported by the country's president, Yoweri Musveni, and that it would be sent for approval to the assembly in the coming weeks, hoping that the vote would take place before the new year, writes “Independent”
