This is the first time the S-400 system will be involved in a military exercise on the territory of a foreign state, Russia's Defence Ministry reports.
The Russo-Serbian military exercise “The slave plant 2019” is held for the first time in history.
The exercise will include two phases, where the first phase was held in September in the Russian region of Astrakhan, while the second phase started in Serbia on 23 October with the deployment of military troops and equipment, due to be completed on 29 October.
The goal of the exercise, according to the Russian Defence Ministry, is to exercise “tasks for detection, association, classification and destruction of all kinds of air targets of a simulated enemy”.
