“Scandalosis! Albanian Rita Ora smiles on Belgrade's face! Haradinaj and Thaci's favourite singer in the province's banners!”, thus writes Serbian media Informer indignant with Kosovo's world-renowned singer.
Serbs call it scandalous the fact that world-renowned Albanian singer Rita Ora appears on promotional billboards, promoting a Western brand of precious jewelry.
The Serbian newspaper Informer calls Rita Ora supporting the KLA, which has called for Albania's largest. This newspaper has even conducted a series of younger interviews in the Serbian capital, asking them how they feel that Rita Ora appears in downtown Belgrade.
This is terrible and is a testimony to the low level of Serbian national consciousness. Our country should not allow an Albanian singer who supports KLA criminals and calls for the creation of a Greater Albania on billboards throughout the capital. The law urgently needs to be drafted and approved to prevent publication of anti-Serb advertising. There are many people in our country who are willing to work against the interests of their people for the sake of their material profit”, a Serb youth interviewed by the Serbian newspaper Informer points out.
If I were to ask myself, I wouldn't let such an ad appear in our country, especially not in our capital. And this comes from a woman who has a clear political stance against Serbia. I think these signs are unnecessary and should be removed, at least from where they are”, notes Stanimirovic, a young Serb.
According to him, Serbian singers are neither heard in Pristina or Tirana. Nebojsa Krstic, a prominent marketing expert in Serbia, tells the newspaper Informer that such things cannot be punished by law but by the market.
“It's not illegal and you can't stop a singer from appearing in an ad. It's a market that means his last word. If a company made a poor trade brand choice, then this would feel like selling products”, Krstic explained.
Albanian artist Rita Ora, Bebe Rexha, I want Lipa and Ava Max have long turned into an image of international firms after the success they have had in the BalkanWeb music market.
