This has caused some to ask questions about Google technology's approval and turns out Google has a good reason.
Speaking to PCMag, Google's product management VP, Brian Rakowski, was quoted as saying: “We will get there, but now is not the right time to produce a 5G phone. The 5G coverage in the market is not widely available in enough places for users to benefit from it [and] from a hardware perspective is still technology very much ahead. ”
Anyway, that doesn't mean Google won't adopt it. Rakovski adds that “has work to do. We're closely following development and we're gonna bring in a phone when we feel like it's a good time for users, but now's not the time. ”
This seems to be similar to what Apple is doing, not launching iPhone 5G at the moment, although we have heard it might come in 2020.
