Prizren's wife finds the children her husband had kidnapped from Peja after eight years

For eight years, he had kidnapped his two former wife, Beka Gashi, without a problem, along with her son and daughter in the Pec municipality. Despite the same demand by Kosovo and Germany authorities, it took 8 years for his whereabouts to be located.

Gashi had been taking her two children (the child and her son) all these years, her ex-wife, in charge of custody, until the mother of two children, Hannah Bytyqi, knew nothing of their fate.

Now 43-year-old, however, had never stopped looking for them. For this occasion she had also notified the authorities in Germany and Kosovo, but surprisingly all these years no information about Beke Gashi had been found. This until a few days ago.

Hannah Bytyqi after eight years met for the first time with the children, following the mediation of the investigation by the two states. They were safe and sound, living with their father in the city of Peja. She stayed with them for a few days in the shelter until they left for Germany yesterday.

The Express newspaper has sent questions to the Peja prosecutor to ask what happened to Beke Gashi. The same ones have said briefly that the case is being investigated, until it is unknown whether the same has been arrested or not.

Right now the girl and her son are 13 and the other 11.

How had the whole event happened?

Years ago, through a middle line that was started by families, Hannah Bytyqi was to meet with Beque Gashi. Both of them, Bytyqi from Prizren, and Gashi from Peja Sich, were married, and life after marriage would not continue easy for them. Problems would begin when Bytyqi and her son were going to live in Germany, where the former husband, Gashi, lived.

Hannah Bytyqi said that since she had moved to Germany, violence had begun for her.

We've met through families, later I and my son have come to Germany. Violence has begun, and not an easy life, but my daughter has later given birth, but the situation between us has not changed”, she says.

For years, according to Hannah Bytyqi's confession, she endured violence, which she did for the sake of children. But when violence became or impatient, the 43-year-old sought police assistance.

Beque Gashi's Hannah Bytyqi had been divorced and the children had remained with her decision by the Court. She's saying the court had decided that the ex-husband would stay away from the children, but that they would not grow up without the presence of father decided that the dwellings where they would live after separation would not be far apart.

The threats had not stopped even after the breakup. Beque Gashi, under threats that he would kill his family in May 2011, would force Hannah Bytyqi along with her to come to Kosovo.

I've been threatened to kill my family and to return to Kosovo. When we landed at the Aeroport in Pristina, terror began. Since then, I haven't looked at my children”, she says.

The 43-year-old adds further that she has left no door without knocking to find her children, however, says she has not received any information about their fate for eight years now.

Every year, Hannah Bytyqi relates that for birthdays children return to Kosovo, they also send them presents on birthdays, but that adds that these never reach their destination.

Now, how many years she's looking for a solution from the courts. The man has been indicted in both Germany and Kosovo.

The 43-year-old says she hopes that as soon as she finds a solution, she has also sought help through a Facebook text.

In her writing, she claims that when she had gone to report the case to Peja police, she had received only insults of ignorance.
