Another possibility the manufacturer is testing is to sell one of the factories, as the brand market share in Europe has dropped. Although there is no final decision yet, some Chinese companies are among the potential buyers of these factories.
Nissan's profit fell to almost zero during the first half of the year, with new chief executive Makotto Uchida facing problems at the start of his mandate.
However, Nissan spokesman Azusa Momose said, for the time being, the Japanese producer does not plan to sell his two factories in Europe.

Nissan announced in July that he plans to cut 12,500 jobs worldwide, as he wants to focus on his home market as well as in China and the US.
In addition, Nissan is considering importing his models into Europe directly from Japan, now that trade barriers with the EU have disappeared. If he does, then there will no longer be a need for factories in the region.

Japanese car manufacturer also plans to reduce a number of non-profit models, including the low-budget dating brand as a whole. Nissan Micra is said to be one of them.
Nissan has already announced a series of measures to reduce costs in Europe, including the elimination of 600 jobs at its factory in Barcelona, which currently operates with a capacity of under 200,000 vehicles annually.
The factory in Sunderland, Great Britain, has also been in focus, as Nissan warned local authorities that Brex would make the object unstable without an agreement.
