November will be the last month that there will be no movement in wages. The Law on Salaries in the public sector will begin to be implemented in December of this year.
So has made it known to Radio Kosovo Finance Ministry spokesman Muharrem Sahini, who said the budget is sufficient for financial cost coverage.
Economic connoisseurs consider this increase in public sector wages could harm the private sector in Kosovo.
The Kosovo Assembly on February 2nd has adopted the Law on Salaries, which for the first time regulates the payment of employees in the public sector. Finance Ministry spokeswoman Muharrem Sahini has told Radio Kosovo of the Law of Salaries will begin to be implemented by December this year.
The implementation starts in December, where all employees in the public sector will receive December salaries under the new law. Financial means are in the budget, salary measures are budgeted and it is more than enough to cover this financial cost”, Sahin suggested.
Economy field recogniser Naim Gashi considers that this law should be implemented until another decision is made. But he says the law will burden the state budget, thus putting aside youth employment in the private sector. )
The new budget option I think should gradually be that, along with the public sector, it will be visible and strengthen the private sector, for the fact that the overwhelming portion of young people in Kosovo is expected to enter the labour market in the private sector, and as such it should be attractive to keep youth in Kosovo from leaving the country”, he said.
Gashi said that the education sector, its connection to the labour market respectively, and the strengthening of the private sector should be the priority of Kosovo institutions, if we aim to ensure jobs for 20 thousand young people. Under the Law of Salaries, the highest co-fficiency is 10 and the lowest is 1 and the first year's monetary value will be 239 euros. Under the Law, Kosovo's president is expected to have the highest salary and will be paid according to the coffient 10, until the chairman of the Parliament, the prime minister and the president of the Constitutional Court will be paid according to the cofficient 9.
