Kodheli: 25 countries have told Albania yes to negotiations

Former Defence Minister, Socialist Party MP Mimi Kodeli during a TV interview said Albania has done all the tasks and deserves the start of negotiations. Kodheli said that we should be proud of what we have done, as we go to Europe with our own value and tradition and not as citizens of our hand [...]
Kodheli said that we should be proud of what we have done, as we go to Europe with our own value and tradition and not as second-class citizens.
It's a difficult time for anyone. BREX, Macron's reconception of another Europe, complicates things. We should be proud of our accomplishments. We don't go to Europe as beggars or second-hand citizens. We go with our tradition”, Kodheli stressed.
Europe has also been mired in other important decisions and has not necessarily been one that has cut short. We will make our efforts by having good friends who are Europe and a more distant West”, Kodheli added.
Our values add to those Europeans. We're in a winning position, because we did things right. The Bundestag has been clear, there has been deep expertise to put two things on the table to overcome the crisis. These were the Constitutional Court and the new Election Code. The crisis has other countries, but the way they handle it is different. We as Albanians should not be dysphatists”, Kodeli said further.
“25 or more countries strongly believe that Albania has done its tasks and should open negotiations, while some other countries, due to their internal reasons, think negotiations should not be opened for reasons not necessary related to Albania and North Macedonia. But what matters is that we've done the tasks we've been assigned”, Kodheli underlined.
We'll definitely work to implement the conditions set by the German Bundestag. We would have to work on realising the nine conditions set by the German Bundestag, even if the negotiations were open to us without the terms provided by Bundestag. We would continue towards reform that we have taken seriously and convinced that we are doing the right thing for the country and Albanians. Of course, we would have hoped to be an example for Albanians wherever they are, as there are places that Albanians can and should demonstrate that they are good among the good”, Kodheli stressed. / A OVR
