If there is one thing that characterizes the bond of human love, it is undoubtedly the act of kissing. You express feelings, emotions and humor, and therefore you play a central role in the relationship. A recent study showed that kissing is an excellent exercise for putting away a few extra pounds. The study, published in a popular American magazine, suggests that kisses also help burn calories.
When we kiss, we activate about 30 muscles in our neck and face, and depending on intensity and duration, each kiss can burn from 6 to 10 calories. An intense kiss can make us burn up to 12 calories a minute.
“During a passionate kiss, metabolic speed can even double,” says Bryant Stamford from Louisville University. “In practice, the body burns fats and carbohydrates faster and effectively. ”
Furthermore, kisses also help to release endorphins and other well - being hormones, such as oxytocin and dopamine, helping to eliminate anxiety and stress. With a kiss of passion, endorphins are released to the point of generating an analgenous effect, similar to a small dose of morphine.
