According to the DailyMail, Iran's National Oil Company said a supertanker named Sinopa was hit by two rockets about 60 miles from the port of Jeddah, leaving him badly damaged.
As it is further known, the explosion damaged many two tanks on the ship, which is believed to be carrying a million barrels of oil destined for Syria, allowing it to flow to the Red Sea.
“Experts believe it was a terrorist attack”, said a source for Iranian news agency I SNA.
The Nour news agency, which is close to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, said the crew was safe.

Tensions have been high between regional enemies Iran and Saudi Arabia since an attack on two Kingdom oil facilities on September 14th that caused fires and damage and the closing of 5.7 million barrels a day of production, more than 5 percent of global fuel supply.
Yemen's Houthi group took responsibility for the attacks, but an American official said they originated in southwestern Iran. Riyadh blamed Tehran.
Iran, which supports Houth in Yemen's war, has denied any involvement.
The 5th US Navy fleet, which oversees the region, did not immediately respond to a demand for comment.
The reported blast comes after the US has claimed Iran attacked oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, something denied by Tehran.
