The study, led by Fiona Mathews, gives a link between high potassium diets and the conception of male-gender children.
As reported in the Royal Society B magazine, 740 British pregnant women participated in the study. Scientists collect information on all their diet plans a year before conception, especially in the period of the 28-day cycle.
All women were not fully aware of the gender of their babies. At the end of the study, it was found that most women who bore male children have followed diet plans before high - potassium conception and energy. Bananas are widely known as one of the highest natural resources of potassium.
It has also been noted that 59% of women who had boys consumed cereals every day in the year before conception. One theory suggested that high energy affect the speed of sperm cells.
It is said that sperm cells bearing male chromosomes are faster swimmers (this fact is still under investigation).
It takes some time for sperm cells to reach the eggs, and they absorb nutrients from cervix fluids.
