FEXBOOKS Director General Mark Zuckerberg faces interrogation before US and European deputies as to how the consulting firm received the personal information of 87 million Facebook users and used them for political purposes.
The penalty is low compared to the value of the $540 billion Facebook market, but it's the maximum that the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) can impose and is the first step in punishing this social network for this scanner.
Facebook reportedly dropped the complaint and agreed to pay the fine, but refused responsibility.
“We are pleased to hear that Facebook has taken over and will continue to take important steps towards respecting the fundamental principles of data protection”, the ICO said.
