Facebook breaks down a Russian mismanagement operation

Facebook reported today on the break-up of a Russian-based mismanagement operation to many African countries, among which Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo and Cameroon. In all, Facebook has eliminated 35 accounts on its network, 53 pages, seven groups and five accounts in the Instagram.
The individuals responsible for the manipulation used a combination of false accounts and authentic accounts belonging to the inhabitants of Madagascar and Mozambique.
The content was focused on international and local information, including such topics as Moscow's policy on the African continent, but also elections in Madagascar and Mozambique, or criticism of American and French politics in the region.
