Edi Rama: We've come a long way ahead. Today we have 50% of women's municipal councils, in government, more women than men. 60% of our management positions in public administration are maintained by women. It's all a credit. I can tell you from my experience that if you want to talk, you can have long discussions without doing anything, you can do it by having men present. But if you want to work real, and if you want things done, it's better to choose women, it's a bigger guarantee. Men always say yes, but in the end they don't do what they have to do. When you tell him why he didn't do it, they start with a list of known and heard excuses. When you tell a woman you should do it, then women say no that maybe it's not the right way to do it. But when they say yes, they will.
Rama's Declaration made it at the second Regional Forum on the subject “Ends violence against women in the Western Balkans and Turkey: We're running Norms, we're changing rememberes”.
