Demhaya: Even if the coalition with LDK is at risk, LVV should not bargain for president

The two political subjects that came up with the first parties in the 6 October elections, the Vetevendosje Movement (VV) followed by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) could jeopardise the possibility of the agreement, if there is LDK's determination to ensure that the president's name from this stage.

In a prononcim Arton Demhayan from the Organisation “Arise”, Gazeta Blic told that the topic of discussion that is being done by working groups on the president's position shows that even in this coalition it is trying to have political deals.

“Taking into account that the president currently has mandated at least a year and a half, and if it starts right now as political shopping as it has been done in the past and in this coalition the president's position under the Constitution is envisioned for the president to be an impartial and maintaining the political level in the country, and in a way it becomes the impression that the trades made by the coalitions in the past are also beginning with this” coalition, Demhasyan said.

He said the VV should in no way accept such a deal even if the coalition's creation is threatened and the LDK insists.

“Vetevendosje Movement should not be accepted in any way because it has consistently rejected the president as one of the political parties because it cannot be more impartial and cannot be in the role of the political level and should not now be accepted to become part of discussions in this coalition and the issue of President”, Demhasaj said.

The “could be derailed if the LDK insists that the president's position should be negotiated and established in a coalition agreement that can now be reached, it may be that reason for the coalition not to be reached and the country to go to the elections”, he added.

Demhasaj said that if an agreement is not reached and the country goes back to the elections, the LDK will have great losses, while the VV will have great victory in electorates due to its failure to submit to the LDK's request.

The “should be known that if the LDK sets the president's position to reach the coalition and is unable to achieve it because of the president, then in the extraordinary elections that would be held immediately afterwards, the LDK would lose a lot in the electorate and the VV would gain a lot for this reason”, he added.
