“Serious consequences for Kosovo if Kurti continues to block dialogue with Serbia”

Vetevendosje Movement leader and prime ministerial candidate Albin Kurti has recently declared that the dialogue with Kosovo Serbs is more important than that of Kosovo-Serbia. Kurti even said last night that the Serbian municipalities' Association Agreement is dead, as it is a Serbian project. His statements have prompted reactions in Serbia, where [...]
His statements have prompted reactions in Serbia, where officials of this state are claiming that a final agreement will be difficult to reach with Kurti, as it will continue to keep the dialogue process blocked.
Commenting on Kurt's coming to power and the possibility of restarting dialogue, Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has said he feels afraid of such a development and the impact he may have on the dialogue, as recent statements made by the VV head “are three times worse than that of Ramush Haradinaj of Hashim Thaci”.
Otherwise, you think, university professor and political connoisseur, Benderman Paziz. He says that with Serbia now it will be decided for final agreements, and that the international community will not insist on continuing dialogue.
“I think that Albin Kurti at the moment he will take over the post of Kosovo prime minister will unlock dialogue in the sense of tax removal and application of the reciprocity principle in relation to Serbia. However, this does not mean that dialogue can continue unhindered, as Kurti has stated that there are some principles he will support when it comes to dialogue. However, US Special Emissary for Kosovo-Serbia Dialogue Richard Green, in his recent visit to the region, has not mentioned dialogue, but the comprehensive agreement, which means that Americans probably co-ordinated with their European partners will offer an agreement and will not insist on continuing the process of the” dialogue, Pasharizi said, on news.net.
He thinks that depending on what the agreement contains, it will be determining whether Albanians or Serbs in this case will be the side that will block it or move it forward.
“Grenelli has not even mentioned at his meetings in Kosovo, nor in Serbia that he will talk about two options -- whether association or correction or exchange of territories -- and I think the Kosovar side may feel comfortable to a certain degree, but of course that the two sides will be given enough time to analyse the agreement that will be put before them. All it takes is to co-ordinate between the leaders of Kosovo institutions, including the president, prime minister, Parliament Speaker and opposition, in order to reach a more quality agreement. I don't believe it's up to Kurt or anyone who would be Kosovo's prime minister to block or unlock the talks because it would have major consequences for Kosovo”.
In addition, Pacarizi says Kurti should be much more careful when it comes to dialogue, especially reports with international partners.
The “Kurti will be much more careful than Haradinaj when it comes to dialogue with Serbia, especially when it comes to reports with international partners. Kurti must know that he is no longer the leader of the opposition, but Kosovo prime minister, represents the citizens of Kosovo who in the majority have voted for him. Therefore, it should be the person who should restore the country partnership with the US and the European Union, and between this partnership and dialogue with Serbia find the golden middle, the processes move forward, Kosovo will not be damaged and the partnership remains with the international community. After all, this is the task of Kosovo's institutions leaders because citizens have voted them to maintain this” partnership, Pajarizi has ended.
We stress that the Kosovo-Kosovo dialogue process- Serbia has been blocked since November last year, due to a 100% firm tax on Serbian products.
