This company through a written answer has confirmed that as a result of finding the active substance in Ranidina on the limits permitted by Sandoz company, Lek has decided to withdraw this shepherd voluntarily from the market.
The security and well-being of our patients is our top priority, so as a precautionary measure, we have already proposed withdrawing Ranital from the local market. We are co-operating with local authorities and they are informed of the specific situation”, said Artan Ibrani, director of the LEK company in Kosovo.
Nevertheless, there are 12 other companies on the market that are continuing to sell this drug.
Health institutions in Kosovo say they cannot act without the European Barnat Agency taking a decision to suspend this drug.
And until the research is conducted, Ardian Rugova U.D. of AKPPM Chief, says the withdrawal or suspension of this drug remains in the company's will.
The Kosovo Medical Oda has asked for AKPPM's explanation of how doctors should act from now on for describing this bar, but says it has so far received no answers.
According to this organisation, this issue should be clarified because Ranital is used to a large extent in Kosovo.
Following alarm given by the European Barnas Agency and the American Administration for Barna and Food, Albania and several states in the region have decided to withdraw this drug from the market.
