Ambassador Abbott has praised the prosperity of the election process, adding that “democracy in Kosovo is growing”.
He expressed concern over the threats during the campaign in different parts of Kosovo that were inhabited with the Serb community.
The results are clear. Kosovo has voted for change, and now awaits the formation of a new and stable government, which will be able to deal with the important issues the country is facing. I look forward to working with the new government.

Kosovo has held quiet and well-organised parliamentary elections Sunday. This shows that democracy in Kosovo is growing.
I commend the dedication and professionalism of the Central Election Council, which observers of the British Embassy have observed throughout the country. It was very good to see the preliminary results published at such speed on the CEC site, which made the process even more transparent.
I welcome today's statement by the European Union Election Monitoring Mission, and to the idea that elections have been well managed. But I am concerned with threats during the campaign in parts of Kosovo inhabited by the Serb population.
The results are clear. Kosovo has voted for change, and now awaits the formation of a new and stable government, which will be able to deal with the important issues the country is facing. I look forward to working with the new government.
