Belgian politician makes rare gesture: Law not to allow the expulsion of Albanian family from Belgium

Love for an Albanian family has led the mayor of Charleroi in Belgium, Paul Magnette, to perform a rare act.

He violated “law”, guiding local police not to obey an expulsion order for this Albanian family, which had been deployed in Charleroi for eight years.

Portal “DH.be” writes that the children grew up there, went to school another one was born there.

But while this Albanian family was perfectly integrated, the Office for Foreigners decided to restore it.

A decision that according to Belgian media was followed by a demonstration of solidarity last week in the town of Charleroi, where students, teachers, parents publicly announced their support for this family

The new mayor, simultaneously president of the Belgian Socialist Party in California, has not preferred to implement the decision that drives the Albanian family away.
