A work dinner called by the EU's High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security, Federica Moghrini, with leaders of the Western Balkans, was held last night in Brussels, where Kosovo President Hashim Thaci was present.
As the EU reports, Moghrin and Western Balkan leaders have exchanged their positions for relations between the EU and their countries, as well as for developments in the region.
The “They showed disappointment over the European Council's decision not to open negotiations for the membership of Northern Macedonia and Albania, as well as agreed that European integration of Balkan countries continues to be the main strategic goal, as the common interest of the European Union and the region”, is said in the EU communities released after the meeting.
In this context, Moghrin and Balkan leaders discussed what has been done jointly and has been achieved over the past five years.
They also reflected on the common challenges that await them.
The Western Balkan <x0).Partners once again confirmed their strong commitment to the EU perspective, for the reforms it brings, primarily for the benefit of their citizens, as well as for regional co-operation and good neighbourly relations”, the communiqué says.
