Deaths from a heart attack or even other cardiovascular disease have been found to be linked to a gene that is related to stress.
According to researchers, those with this gene are more likely to die of heart disease.
A team has studied a single change in human DNA, which is linked to the greatest touch from the effects of stress.
They found that the patient's heart having genetic changes had an increase of 38% of risk from heart attacks, or death from heart disease after seven years of persecution compared with those without genetic change, even after considering factors such as age, obesity and smoking.
The study highlights the fact that stress can increase the direct risk of heart disease, the British Heart Foundation says.
This suggests that stress management techniques and drug therapy can reduce deaths and limited ability from heart attacks, they say.
