Princess Diana is one of the most controversial characters in the Royal Family, even though she no longer lives.
She was born on July 1, 1961, and was the wife of Charles, Prince of Wells. Diane gave birth to her two children, Prince William and Harry, who are heir to the royal family. Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997, in a serious automobile accident when she was 36 years old. And today it has been 22 years since her tragedy and death in Paris. Princess Diana was traveling into a Mercedes S-280, after she left Hotel Ritz before the fatal crash in the Pont De lCEAlma tunnel. Sgt Xavier Gourmelon was responsible for a crew of firemen trained by doctors who went first to the scene.
Half conscious Diana apparently tried to speak while sitting next to her boyfriend Dody Fayed in the back of the car. Sgt Gourmelon found out she said: “My God, what happened? In his first interview with the media, Gourmelon, 50, said he thought the Princess of Wales would survive the accident. He said 36-year-old was conscious when she got out of the car. Diana later had a cardiac arrest after being placed in a stretcher.
Lady Di died tragicly a few hours later in the hospital.
“Makina was a chaos and we dealt with it as in any traffic accident. We started working to see who needed help and who was alive”, said Mr. Gourmelon for the “The Sun”. He added: “The woman, whom I later understood was Princess Diana, was on the floor on her back. She was moving very little, and I could see that she was alive. I could see she had a slight injury to her right shoulder, but besides, there was nothing important. There was no blood sign. I held her hand and told her to relax... I told her I was there to help and secure her. She said, "My God, what happened?"
I now know that she had suffered serious internal injuries... the memory of that night will stay with me forever”, he adds.
Princess, Dodi al Fayed and their driver Henry Paul lost their lives after the accident at the Pont de Alma tunnel.
Fatal Security Staff Error
If the princess had royal security guards and police escorts, she would have saved her life.
This is the opinion of the expert and former star bodyguard Matt Fiddes, who spent 10 years working for the safety of pop megatar Michael Jackson.
He told “Daily Star Online” that Lady Di and her security staff made a series of bad “decisions fatal on the night of August 31st.
Fiddes said that the good planning of the road, a <x0 mic following”, no deal with paparazzi and without an armoured vehicle, contributed to its death.

The car crashed through the streets of Paris following a group of paparazzi as it entered the Alma tunnel at 12:23.
Driver Henry Paul lost control and crashed into a pillar, killing himself, Princess and her lover Dody Fayed.
Her bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, survived the fatal accident.
