Women who engage in physical activity for at least an hour a day have more chances of living up to 90 years than those exercising less than 30 minutes.
The connection between exercise and a long life span is the link that has been repeatedly investigated in recent years.
However, earlier explorations on this issue have either combined the results of the two genders or focused only on men instead of analyzing females and males at the same time.
Dutch scientists have now explored how the body size and daily physical activity of females and males affect their life span.
For this research, published in the Journal Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health, scientists have analyzed the data of more than 120,000 men and women in 1986.
Based on various tests, researchers have found that women exercising 30 to 60 minutes a day are 21% more likely to reach the age of 90 compared to those exercising less than 30 minutes.
On the other hand, men exercising 90 minutes a day are 39% more likely to reach 90.
It is noteworthy that some factors that contribute greatly to the life span of individuals are smoking and consuming alcohol.
