The US National Security Council and the US State Department have shaped their position regarding current developments in Kosovo, respectively, the government-set tax issue and dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
Clan Kosovo's sources have provided the clear message, which has already been delivered to Kosovo state authorities in written form.
This firm stand by the American administration is summed up in eight main points:
- “The tariff measures were taken without consulting the United States of America”
- “We express the deep disappointment that after President Trump's letter to President Thaci, not only has there been no positive reflection on the Kosovo Government, but products subject to the fee“have been added.
- “Request immediate suspension of the fee. The same fee can be restored if the agreement with Serbia --“fails.
- The US support for Kosovo is not unconditional. Kosovo currently carries the burden of risking the failure of dialogue“.
- “If the tariff is not urgently suspended, the US will suspend assistance in the field of security, so support for KSF“.
- “Success and reaching agreement do not link to Mrs. Federica Moghrini and the EU. Reaching the agreement is a strategic interest of the United States, so it is unacceptable for us to question this strategic goal on the part of the irresponsible actions of Kosovo leaders”.
- If the agreement fails because of Kosovo, the burden of responsibility and the consequences will bear Kosovo itself, and individuals responsible for this failure“.
- Kosovo's “with its irresponsible behavior is seriously risking friendship with US”.
Klan Kosova also has confirmed that at the request of institutions this message has been forwarded to five Kosovo state-run relevant institutions through diplomatic channels.
