United States President Donald Trump said today that progress has been made in reaching a trade agreement with China. He denied that he has considered the possibility of removing trade fees on Chinese products.
“Things are adding very well to China and with trade”, Trump told reporters, adding that he has seen some “false reporting”, which have suggested that American tariffs to Chinese products will be removed, Reuters reports.
If we reach agreement, of course there will be no sanctions and if we fail to reach agreement, there will be sanctions. We have had large numbers of meetings and an agreement is likely to be reached with China”, Trump said.
The United States has imposed tariffs on Chinese goods, with the reason that China has been “undirected” to the US in trade.
Also, China has imposed tariffs on American imports.
