The Touching Story of the Survivor of the Srebrenica Massacre

Fahrudin Muminovic, the survivor of mass killings in Srebrenica in 1995, has had difficulty rebuilding his life and family after the war ended. After 23 years, the task has finally become a little easier. A Facebook foundation has managed to raise $227,7000 in 16 days for a boy with no parent.

His family home in Urkovic was completely destroyed during the war. Fahrudin was wounded in hand and on foot when the Srebrenica massacre had occurred, in which about 8 thousand Muslim men and boys by Serb forces had been killed. His father had been killed in the war while his mother had died just 26 days after his sister Fahretta was born during the 1993 conflict. Being orphans and poor, they took refuge after the war with their uncle. During this period, he has witnessed the horror he has experienced. In the trial of seven war crimes suspects in The Hague, Fahrudin has detailed the war scene during the 1992-1995 years. His father and I had been taken out of the house, and Serb forces had been blindfolded.

After they had joined others, Fahrud had his hands cut off from his father's hand and had fallen to the ground. At that moment, the pouring of bullets had begun on them, while he said that he smelled the blood of dead bodies falling near him. Among the dead, of course, would be Fahrudin, if a soldier did not show mercy and prevented others from killing his 7-year-old. He was the only survivor of this horror.

With the money raised for them, Fahrudini and Fahreta plan to buy a house in Sarajevo and renew the destroyed house in Ukrovic. However, Fahrudin also has a desire that has not yet been satisfied. He wants to find the family of the Serbian doctor who had sent him to the hospital when he was injured. He has learned that the doctor has passed away, but wants to thank his family for the attention he had shown to him in wartime, writes “Free Europe”, broadcasting Express.
