It has been noted that people who have regularly used dental strands have had higher levels of perfuroalkl (also known as PFAS) in their blood.
This is disturbing, researchers say, because the same compounds have been linked to serious health problems such as cancer, fertility issues, and weight gain.
What are PFAS?
PFAS is a common chemical class that can help create water and fat substances. Because of this, they are present in many consumer goods, such as fast - food wrappings, kitchens, cloths of fire reactors, water - resistant clothing, etc. People are exposed to PFAS through products we use and food we eat, as well as through domestic dust and contaminated drinking water.

Why should we worry about PFAS?
