The Ministry of Finance has been conducting the execution of wages for January for all public administration servants, including teachers.
SBASK Vice President Vjollca Shala has confirmed to KALLXO.com that teachers have received the monthly salaries of January.
According to her, the wages executed today are much the same as the past months, without any increase.
“According to the information we have, teachers have received wages as they did, as in last month”, Shala said.
Asked whether to accept these salaries or reject them, Shala said the salaries would be accepted constitutional law on strikes.
“They won't be rejected. The law on strikes does not say that salaries must not be taken”, Shala briefly told KALLXO.com
Teachers have entered the third week of the strike. They have entered a general strike on January 14th of this year.
The strikers' demand is the increase in the wage coefyti for 30%.
Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, weeks earlier, had proposed growth for the teachers' categories, but his proposal was not accepted by the SBASK.
