Export covers import 9.7 percent
As for export of goods, in December 2018 it was worth 29.4m euros, while imports of 302.9m euros, which is a drop of -0.2 per cent per export and a 1.9 per cent import increase compared to the same month before, reports KALLXO.com.
According to the Kosovo Statistics Agency, the basic metals and their articles are the biggest export contributors.
“According to key export group data: 39.0% of exports make up basic metals and articles; 12.9% prepared foods, drinks and tobacco, 11.5% plastics, tires and articles from them, 8.5% mineral products, 5.9% plant products, 4.6% different products produced, 3.3% chemical industry products, etc.”, the ASS relates.
And according to key imports data: 15.4 percent make up mineral products, 14.8 machines, mechanical and electrical equipment, 12.4 prepared foods, drinks and tobacco, 12 vehicles, 8.3 basic metals, and the articles, 6.4 chemical industry products, 5.1 percent make text, and its articles 5 percent plastic, tires, and items from them, etc.
155m euros in goods came from EU in December
Kosovo exports to EU countries reached 7.3m euros, or about 25 percent of total exports, with a 7.1 per cent increase.
Key partners for export of goods to the EU are: Germany 6.7 percent, Holland 3.4, Italy 2.8, Slovenia 2.3 percent, etc., reports KALLXO.com.
The AK says imports increased about 13 per cent with leading Germany partners.
Kosovo's “imports from EU countries were around 155.1m euros, or 51.2% of total imports, with an increase of 12.7%. Imports with higher turnout were from: Germany (13.1%), Italy (6.3%), Greece (5.9%), Slovenia (5.3), Poland (2.9%), etc.”, the Statistics Agency reports.
Macedonia first Kosovo trade partner from CEFTA
In December 2018, Kosovo's exports with CEFTA countries reached 13.3m euros, or 45.3 per cent of total exports, with an increase of 11.8 per cent.
Key export partners from CEFTA countries are: Albania 23 percent, Macedonia 10.8, Serbia 5.6, and Montenegro 4.6 percent.
Macedonia mostly supplied goods to Kosovo in the month of holidays.
“Meanwhile, imports from CEFTA countries in December 2018 reached 42.3m euros, or 14.0% of total imports, with a drop of (46.8%). The countries with the highest share in import was: Macedonia (5.8%), Albania (5.7%) and Serbia (1.8 %).”, reveals the communique of the Statistics Agency.
Trade of goods with other countries
Kosovo's exports with those countries were about 9m euros, where India was the main partner.
Kosovo's <x0ports with other countries of the world reached 8.7m euros, or 29.7%. As more important partners from these export countries, it's worth mentioning: India (19.0%), and Switzerland (5.7%).”, the AK notes, reports KALLXO.com.
While Kosovo's imports with other countries of the world reached 105.4m euros, or 34.8 per cent. The countries with the highest share in import in this group were: Turkey 10.7 percent and China 9.8 percent.
In November, Albania was the first from CEFTA countries to exchange goods with Republic of Kosovo
