Experts have developed a test that will potentially change women's risk forecast for breast cancer.
It combines information on family history and hundreds of genetic markers with other factors, such as weight, to give the fullest possible assessment, has revealed Cancer Research UK.
The test is not yet available routineally. Some doctors and specialists are testing it first.
High - risk women may receive preventive treatment and have more control, researchers say.
About 55,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Much of it happens to women who have risk factors.
